Explorers: Browse listings, filter by your preferences (time, price), book your experience and make payment! After which you may communicate with your captain to arrange the meetup. It’s that simple!
Captains: List your experience with an accurate description of your activity and put some pictures! Set your own price (subject to a minimum of $10), manage listings, communicate with explorers, and receive payments. You can also manage your finances and request to withdraw your money to your defined PAYNOW account.
Click the sign-up button and follow the steps on screen! If you're registering as a Captain, for security reasons we require you to upload an image of proof that you are indeed a local and to verify your email address. Once that is done, please kindly wait for confirmation from our team. Once we have vetted your profile and approved your account, you will be able to start using Wave to list experiences!
Captains are essentially locals going about their daily lives. They are the ones that best represent the different facets of what local living truly is.
Explorers are individuals that are looking for a truly local, unfiltered experience.
Wave prioritizes safety and security. We have robust verification processes for both Explorers and Captains, secure payment systems, and support available in the event of a dispute.
All payments are currently processed in Singapore Dollars (SGD). We intend to extend this to other currencies in future!
For Explorers
Simple!
Determine the date and times you're available and set a price range that you're comfortable with using the search filter. If you're flexible do put a full range.
Scroll through the various listings and take a look at the pictures, description and locations listed.
If you see something you like, book it!
Review and confirm your booking by making payment.
Once done, you'll be able to chat with your host.
We currently accept Visa and Mastercard Credit/Debit cards.
Yes, all payments on Wave are processed through secure channels using industry-standard encryption.
Yes you can. However, depending on your time of cancellation, certain terms may apply. Please refer to our cancellation policy below.
If your booking is canceled by the Captain, you will receive a full refund, no questions asked.
You will be able to meet your Captain at the designated location listed in the experience listing. To ensure you get a more specific location, please communicate with your Captain through our in-app messaging service.
First, attempt to resolve the issue with your Captain. If the issue cannot be resolved, please contact Wave support and we will look into your matter!
For Captains
On the listing tab, click the "+" icon at the bottom right-hand side of the screen
Fill in the title of your experience! (e.g. My weekly wet market grocery run)
Provide some details about your Experience and include at least 3 photos!
Set your price, availability and duration.
Review and publish your Experience!
It's free! Wave allows you to post as many listings as you want, completely free of charge. However, prior to listing an experience, please ensure that you are able to honour the experience if a booking occurs. Otherwise, cancellations will involve cancellation fees.
Payments are released to your account upon withdrawal request. Due to high withdrawal request volume and stringent checks, please kindly allow for up to 14 business days to receive your money.
You must comply with all local laws and regulations. You are also responsible for managing your experience and providing a safe and comfortable environment for explorers. In addition, please read our terms of use policies.
Additional Information
Once an experience has been confirmed, a message box with the Explorer will appear under the message tab. You may communicate with your Captain/Explorer via the messaging system.
If an experience has been confirmed:
If an Explorer cancels:
- If the cancellation occurs more than 48 hours prior to the start of the activity, the explorer will receive the full refund less an administrative fee (the fee is listed prior to making payment)
- If the cancellation occurs between 24 to 48 hours prior to the start of the activity, the explorer will receive a 50% refund less an administrative fee.
- If the cancellation occurs less than 24hours prior to the start of the activity, unfortunately the explorer won't be able to receive any refund.
If the Captain cancels on you, regardless of when it happens, you will be refunded the full amount of what you paid.
If a Captain cancels:
- As long as the Captain makes a cancellation, explorers will receive a full refund. The Captain will be charged an administrative fee.
If an experience has not been confirmed, deleting a listing will not result in any penalties.
